Woman joined my department at work on temporary basis. Went for the permanent job role and didn’t get it.

I understand how gutting it is to be told you’ve not got the job.

We did become friends whilst we worked together but now a month on she’s still texting me to say how unfair it is she didn’t get the job and listing the reasons why she should have got it.

I’m was sympathetic towards her at the beginning but now I’m close to telling her to just get over it already. Aibu?

Urgh, no you aren't. Bet you're glad she didn't get the job. Keep her behaviour in mind for the future, maybe she doesn't take rejection well.

Block and move on

BlancheM · 30/03/2018 22:30

That's odd. Maybe she wants you to put a word in for her.

Deshasafraisy · 30/03/2018 22:30

Maybe she things that repeatedly expressing her devastation to you will miraculously change her fate. I would start to distance myself if I was you.

Thinks

Sounds like the company made the right decision.

Tell her you really like the person that was hired and, not saying you weren't good, but this new person is really good.
