My four year old is permanently misbehaving for me. I've just taken him to the cinema and just of our walk home he's run away 4 times rolled around in the mud (it's been raining all day) Told me he hates me. Gave him a bath and he then pooed himself and rubbed it all over the carpet and himself because I went to the toilet and this is one of our good days. As soon as his dad is home from work he snaps back into being a really good well behaved boy. I'm the only person he acts like this for. None of my family believe what he's like when it's just the two of us. I've also spoke to his teacher and he's never shown her any form of bad behaviour.

On other days he will attack me ( kick, bite, scratch, pinch, punch, pull my hair...)
Scream non stop for no reason
Break his toys and blame me

Every activity we do ends up so unenjoyable for both of us.

He's not bored as I'm always taking him out so we are not stuck inside together for too long. And when we are inside I've always got things for him to do like cooking, whole box of craft stuff , room full of toys....

And now it's half term for two weeks and his dad forgot to book any time off work.

Right now I feel like packing my bags and leaving.

Oh OP - this sounds so, so tough!!

I thought my 4 year old was a little monkey but you’ve got a lot on your plate!!

Did your DH accidentally on purpose forget to book time off? It just seems a bit suspicious that he forgot to book time off when your son was going to be home all day every day.

I would also feel at breaking point if I were you Sad

Has he always been like this? Have you ever sought a professional opinion?

The violence and the poo incident don’t sound like normal childhood behaviour to me.

What family support do you have apart from your husband?

This goes way beyond normal, especial the dirty protests. Take him to the gp

Perhaps you should ask to have the thread moved to the ‘Parenting’ forum as you may find a lot of really helpful posters in there Flowers
