AIBU to be irritated but not surprised?

I recently applied for (and was accepted to) membership with a professional organisation that oversees certification in my field.

It is a massively male field, and I am a woman with a woman's name

When I received the correspondence advising me that I was accepted, it was addressed to Mr. HadItEasy, and so was a subsequent mailing.

No where on the application was there a chance to select a salutation or sex. AIBU to be unsurprised that the assumption is that I am male, but still irritated that in 2018, the idea of a woman in a "nontraditional" field is still foreign to some organisations?

First of all congratulations on your achievement.
Secondly YANBU - it's so bloody frustrating. The sooner we are all M. the better.

YANBU but it is very disappointing in 2018. Call them up on it definitely.

I nearly said something the other day on a train when the guard kept saying something about "telling a policeman". ARGH.

Well done you for getting on in your field, despite the obvious major handicap of being a woman!
