To be delighted the Ecuadorian embassy is cutting off Assange's internet connection?

They must be so fed up with having him there. What an error of judgement to take him in the first place. Six years he's been there! Puts the overstaying MIL threads on here in perspective! Grin

Why are they doing that?

MabantoMoonface · 28/03/2018 20:32

Why are they doing that?

Apparently he just sits watching Pornhub all day, and he is using up their bandwidth

DailyWailEatsSnails · 28/03/2018 20:35

Come on Mabanto, you're making rubbish up.
I think if I were Assange I'd walk out by now to meet my fate. His is no kind of life. Might as well be in a real prison, for a change, with a pulpit during any trial to promote his conspiracy theories.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 28/03/2018 20:39

The move is to prevent the WikiLeaks founder from interfering in other countries' affairs, Ecuador said. It comes after Mr Assange questioned accusations that Moscow was responsible for the poisoning of a Russian ex-spy and his daughter in the UK on 4 March.

Words cannot express how much I loathe this super-entitled sex pest. The only trouble with him leaving the Ecuadorian embassy now is that if he did get extradited to the US Trump would probably be happy to let him go straight on to Moscow.

Totally true. Top search term is Swedish twins

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 28/03/2018 20:42

I dont even want to fact-check that. It's too funny.

Nevercallmehun · 28/03/2018 20:46

Nasty fucker deserves it.

MrsJoshDun · 28/03/2018 20:48

Yeah even if he’d been sentenced to prison he maybe wouldn’t have served six years.....which he’s done. Fair enough not in an actual prison but the principle of loss of liberty is the same.

I thought he couldn’t be prosecuted over the rape claim now as time had run out? But he’s still worried about American wanting to extradite him?

Overstaying MILs! Brilliant!

NotACleverName · 28/03/2018 20:55

With this and Tommy Robinson being booted off Twitter it's been a bad day for obnoxious gobshites.

Mightymucks · 28/03/2018 20:56

Apparently he was told that he could access the net as long as he did not do things which damaged Ecuador’s relationships with other countries but he’s not complied so they’ve cut him off.

It is getting a bit of a farce with Pamela Anderson rocking up with a takeaway and Brian Eno releasing statements on his behalf.

Somerford · 28/03/2018 20:59

I couldn't give a flying fuck about Julian Assange. MabantoMoonface is my favourite poster on this forum now though, that will be my first and last contribution to the discussion.

VladmirsPoutine · 28/03/2018 21:01

Does he intend to die there?

I mean, without internet and without being able to go outside then what else is there to do but sit in solitude and eventually die.

MrsJoshDun · 28/03/2018 21:03

Maybe EE will do him a good 4g deal with unlimited video —porn— streaming?

MrsJoshDun · 28/03/2018 21:03

—porn—

MrsJoshDun · 28/03/2018 21:04

Why does my strikethrough not work anymore?

ToriRay · 28/03/2018 21:06

Anyone seen Avenue Q? Favourite song is 'The Internets for porn' favourite line is 'put your hand on your di*k and double click!' Probably Julians favourite too...

MabantoMoonface · 28/03/2018 21:08

MrsJoshDun

Why does my strikethrough not work anymore?

They are on to you. Your internet access is being taken away, little by little

SouthernComforts · 28/03/2018 21:12

6 years?! Bloody hell!

What's his end game here? How long can he realistically stay there? Does the embassy have some kind of obligation to let him stay? Does he pay?

Lots of questions, I'd forgotten he was in there!

NotSureThisIsWhatIWant · 28/03/2018 21:14

Bloody hell, if they turned my internet collection off, I would walk out of self imposed exile within a week.

I’m taking bets, how much do you give him?

MrsJoshDun · 28/03/2018 21:17

I wouldn’t last 24 hours without internet.

I was on holiday in the U.K. last week with no WiFi but good 4g allowance and tethered my iPad happily. 3 days in my phone stopped getting data. It took 60 mins on the phone to EE before they sorted it and I honestly would have left early and come home if they hadn’t!

Dapplegrey · 28/03/2018 21:19

Why did the Ecuador embassy allow him in in the first place?

DailyWailEatsSnails · 28/03/2018 21:21

Presumably he has a phone with data allowance??

WickedGoodDoge · 28/03/2018 21:25

MrsJoshDun are you on an iPad? My strikethrough no longer works on my iPad. Lots of lovely posters tried to tell me what to do to make it work again but being a bit of a technophobe and lucky to have been able to do strikethroughs in the first place, I didn’t understand a word of what they were saying. Grin

I don’t know how he can stand his life. I’d have gone batshit crazy years ago and would be running screaming onto the street if my internet were taken away from me.
