To ask your opinion on Disley..

Right so we live in Masham. I bloody love it here. DH and I are both in the legal area and commute me to York and him to Manchester.

He's been given a really really good opportunity in Manchester (judge) and I think we'll have to have to move. I can transfer my workload, but it's not what I want to do. I've refused to live in Manchester City Centre and I've found a couple of gorgeous houses in Disley. We have friends who live in Marple so that's not too far away.

We have no children but we had a stillbirth last year and we're thinking of trying again soon.

So.. good people of Mumsnet. Please can you tell me all you know about that area? Our budget is about £500k

If DH is already working in Manchester, commuting from Mashem, can you not continue living there if he takes up the new job?
And what will happen to your job/commute if you move?

He's sick of the commute he's done it for years. This new position will be more work and we're just not seeing each other and when we do he's grumpy and tired as hell. We have next to no quality of life during the week.

My case load will probably stay in Yorkshire for a bit until I can find some contacts in Manchester. I quite like a drive after court but it's killing DH
