To not have had my rings resized yet?

When I was pregnant, my fingers turned to chipolatas and my wedding and engagement rings came off about halfway through and on to a chain. My twins are 18 months old now and I can just about squeeze them on but they’re too tight to be comfortable so they’re still on a chain. I have put on weight since I stopped breastfeeding which I’m trying to lose but struggling with hormonal issues and it’s not shifting.

I really miss wearing my beautiful rings, and I can tell it’s bothering my husband but I’m really wary of having them resized and weakening them. Realistically if they don’t fit now will they ever fit again?

I also suffered chipolata fingers in pregnancy. After I'd given birth I got down to less than my pre-pregnancy weight and still couldn't get my rings on. I just bit the bullet and had them resized. I didn't see the point in having them and not wearing them!

if you get them made bigger does it mess up the hallmarks etc?

No, as long as you use a decent jeweller they will avoid the hallmarks, and it won't weaken the ring. The only problem can be if you go up or down more than about 4 sizes, it can affect the settings of any stones, especially if tension set. If you can get them on it'll only be a size or two so go for it and enjoy your lovely rings!
