Does anyone have strong opinions/experiences about selective primaries with a 4+ assessment?

Would you consider them?

I didnt know there was such a thing !

Private sector I assume?

GoldenHefalump · 27/03/2018 15:10

No I wouldn't consider them...selection at 4 is bloody ridiculous IMO.

Lots of MNers have their children in selective primary phase schools, but you just sound like a journalist.

DairyisClosed · 27/03/2018 15:17

For many the 'selection' process is just about checking the child is able to keep up with the schools expect ions before offering a place.

If my l state schools were crap, I had the money and my child was bright and autumn born then yes I would consider it. (I know that August borns can be bright so no flaming please) For bright Spring/Summer borns, I'd probably consider later entry like 7+/8+ when the birthday had less impact on readiness for an academic school.
