to wonder about "official observations"?

Have just got my new passport. On the page opposite the page with my photo and personal details, it has another page with a digital photo which says "this page is reserved for official observations".

What would appear on this page? Assuming not things like "Sheesh, look at her wrinkles" or "not sure I like her top".

I always thought it had things like, 'noted, passport holder has an enormous dragon tattoo on their right arm' or things of that ilk. I don't quite know why I thought that.

There's some info here

Aww, that's not nearly so interesting as "mahoosive dragon tattoo on arm" observations. I'm not a peer, diplomat or aristocrat, so that page on my passport shall remain blank.

If you're one of those people who flaunt your PhD or your MBChB in the hope of upgrades in hotels, then you can have "Dr" there as well. Cool kids don't.

I have a barcode sticker in my passport. No amount of googling has revealed why.
I think I got it in Jordan but I can’t remember... no one mentioned it and I only noticed it last year.

I have my maiden name in there because I still use it for some things.

It means if I need to prove ID my passport covers both names.
