Amazon Prime delivery AIBU

WellAlwaysHaveParis · 25/03/2018 16:40

Ordered a delivery on Amazon Prime recently, and it got delivered last week when I was out and no one was at home to collect it. I found this out when I tracked the delivery online and it said that the delivery was ‘handed to reaidwnt’, even though no one was in my flat to collect it.

I’ve just been out to ask my neighbours in the other flats to ask if they might have picked up the delivery for me, but they’re not in. Its now been a week since the delivery, and nothing’s been given in by the neighbours, so it looks like they haven’t got the delivery either.

Should I just ring Amazon customer service and ask for a replacement to be delivered?

Of course I should have added, ‘AIBU to ask for your help with this?’ Wink

Why wouldn’t you?
Amazon chat online is usually v good.
Just explain you don’t know who that is and you’ve asked all your neighbours.

Catatlarge · 25/03/2018 16:43

Why have you left it a week! I’d be onto them within 24h

Strawberry2017 · 25/03/2018 16:43

I'd wait until you see your neighbors to check, they might be waiting for you to collect it from them.
If not contact amazon

Contact amazon, they are great to sort things. If they haven't left you a card how are you meant to know which neighbour to try?

Yes.

Why not ?

This has happened a couple of times, and Amazon have been incredibly quick to correct. No idea what happened to one item, but in another case the replacement was delivered before a far-neighbour (20 doors down) bought the original package. (Turned out the label was every so slightly out of alignment and the house number wasn't showing. Presumably the driver just guessed).

FWIW, Amazon have nailed it for me - every contact I've had has sorted things out PDQ.

I have had various issues with Amazon Prime. I always email them. They usually respond within a couple of hours and always sort any issues. They also add a month free prime delivery for any inconvenience.

ThickSocksWoolyHat · 25/03/2018 17:05

Amazon prime isn't delivered by a courier firm, its delivered by someone in a car just like a takeaway delivery so yes, contact them.

Thanks, everyone. I’ve just called them and they’ve given me a refund.
