French citizenship interview - living in the U.K.

Not an aibu but didn’t know where to post. I am going for my French citizenship. I live in the U.K. so I’m not going to be asked about my region etc. Can anyone please tell me the sort of thing I may be asked in the interview (l’entretien) and where I may find info to swat up on? Thanks.

Are you already an EU citizen living in the UK?

I know several people who have done this. They have had questions along the line of

What is your favourite French recipe and how do you cook it?

What clubs do you belong to in France? (social, sporting etc)

What can you tell me about the cinquième république?

Name a prior French president other than Nicolas Sarkozy

Name a French film star

If you're applying on the grounds of being married to a French person, then lots of probing questions about your relationship (to gauge whether it's a marriage of convenience or not... -- they may ask you what school your spouse went to, where his parents live, what is his favourite hobby, who is his closest friend/who was his best man at wedding... )

Hard to swat for these things though -- if you prepare the questions above you're bound to get something completely different!

There is a thread about French nationality in living overseas. You may wish to post there. DH and I have our interview next month. I will have to ask him the names of schools he went to! All I know is that it wasn't his local school but the one his Dad worked at, for convenience!

Thanks I’ve printed off the livret. I’ve read the thread so it’s given me some more ideas.

You could also watch YouTube videos of 'cours EMC troisième' to revise your values and principles etc.
