To want to move far away from here?

family threatened with a hammer as robbers steal a car from their driveway. This is the headline I have just read in my local paper, I grew up in this town 2 streets from where this happened and it has filled me with an incredible level of sadness. My dc are 5&7 and when my brother and I were that age 25 years ago life seemed a lot easier and safer, it’s sad that now I’m just getting used to seeing headlines like this. A year ago a good friend of mine packed up his life and moved his family to Cape Verde they live in a small locally built house with basic tv channels, their kids dont have a phone, don’t care about being on their I pad or computer because they’re to busy out playing on the beach. Ok their school system is non existent but they are homeschooling and I can’t help thinking they’re getting so much more out of life than my children will. It worries me what life will be like here in the uk in other 20 years for my children and grandchildren. If I had the money I would love to take my children somewhere else and give them a better life. Anyone else think about this?

No because the private education system in Britain is amazing.

I would love to get away from where I live too. It is such a scary huge step to take. I don't know if having DCs is better or worse. The one thing that I see from this is that we do not seem to have any faith or hope that our areas could become law abiding and safe

dairy. It hardly matters about the education system if my children are shot and stabbed in the street. Plus homeschooling has a lot of benefits and if done properly can provide an excellent education.

It sounds lovely, but how would you make a living there?

I would love to move away. I think life in the uk is going to get much harder and schools, hospitals, police and pretty much everything else is already on its knees. I have an elderly dm who wouldn’t consider moving and I cant bear the thought of leaving her here on her own.
