Noises from next door

Aibu to think that this is a bit strange?

We moved into a new house a few months ago.

Next door lives an elderly lady she must be in her 80s. We literally never see her.

The only times we've seen her was when we were renovating the house and she came to shout at us about the noise. Then a few weeks later she was walking past staring angrily into our window.

We've never seen her since, but what I do hear is an alarm clock going off all though the day.

I can hear it from my bedroom and it starts going off at about 7am, then must just go off repeatedly at intervals right into late evening. This is every day and sometimes it can be going off for half an hour.

Any guesses at what she's doing?

Is she still alive?! If she is, does she know it's going off? Maybe she can't hear it if she's in another room. But I would be knocking on her door to check all ok!

Bundlesmads · 22/03/2018 20:13

She probably has an alarm set to remind her to take medication.

SilverHairedCat · 22/03/2018 20:15

Yes, I'd be more concerned that's she's had a fall or is dead. Does she open and close the curtains every day? Any visitors?

BarbaraOcumbungles · 22/03/2018 20:16

Have you seen her recently? How often is the alarm going off? Maybe she thinks it’s coming from your house and that’s why she’s pissed off with you.

BettyBaggins · 22/03/2018 20:16

Are curtains being opened and closed?

Babytigger · 22/03/2018 20:16

I think she's alive because we hear her tv blaring at all hours.

Yes you're probably right about it being for her to take medication.

No visitors that I've ever seen, I haven't checked for curtains being open and closed but I'm sure I've seen the lights on.
