I'd go beach combing, especially on the East coast. On my favourite beaches I can usually find some fossils, moss agates or carnelian. Smile

Read a good book.
Spa day at home.
Declutter.

Bake a new cake.
Nice lunch with wine

London museums for a day?

Can you afford day trips? Jump in the car or on a train and go somewhere for a wander.
Find a hiking/walking group on meetup.com and do a couple of scenic walks.
Meet some friends.
Visit family.
Do a painting by numbers.
Watch boxsets and films.

This is really boring but if I had 10 days to fill and no travel plans then I think I would decorate the bedroom. Or sort out my border in the back garden. Or de-clutter the back bedroom.....

Actually once when I was between jobs for a couple of weeks I indulged in a couple of craft projects. I restored two old dining chairs by stripping them down, re-staining them and then doing a simple reupholstery job on the seats.

How do you have a spa day home?!

swg1 · 22/03/2018 17:39

I know you said you can't afford to go abroad but I'd look anyway. Truly last minute holidays can be amazingly cheap.

Aries1234 · 22/03/2018 17:44

Also, I have a friend in west of Scotland who I may visit for 2 /3 days . Any advice on where I can visit in that area in a few days?

@harriettkettlee I don't know actually. Was thinking give yourself mani pedi facial, long soak in the bath hair treatment, things you might not usually have time to do

Trills · 23/03/2018 07:55

I'd go to the cinema a couple of times at least.

It's often much cheaper early in the week and/or during the daytime.

Where abouts do you live?
