To want the aldi hot tub

mamahanji · 22/03/2018 15:15

Posting in AIBU for traffic.

The Aldi hot tub...£280.

Does anyone have one? Does anyone know anyone that has one? Is it any good?

It's going back on sale this Sunday and I can't find reviews anywhere.

Hmm.

An Aldi sex pond

What could go wrong?

Mikklehaha · 22/03/2018 15:47

Radialrooster
‘Aldi sex pond’ brilliant! 🤣

Clevs · 22/03/2018 15:48

I didn't buy mine from Aldi but if it's the Intex one in their website then mine is the same model.

I absolutely love it. Even my husband admits to liking it and he wasn't that bothered about getting one. I bought it mainly for helping with back pain but used it 2-3 times a week just for pleasure before I got pregnant. It's been packed away in the shed since the summer but once I've had my baby I can't wait to get out out again!

mamahanji · 22/03/2018 15:51

Radicalrooster

You've just sold it to me more with 'sex pond' Grin

How much do they cost to run? They must take ages to fill and heat!

mamahanji · 22/03/2018 16:10

I let says between £1-£1.50 a day to run. Yh I imagine it takes ages to fill.

Fucking hell..... sex pond. I no longer wish to have my neighbours see we have a hot tub!! Haha sorry I scared the dog I laughed so loud!

dontticklethetoad · 22/03/2018 16:22

This deserves to be in classics purely for the phrase "sex pond".

DryHeave · 22/03/2018 16:31

Wink
RedBlackberries · 22/03/2018 16:33

I want one! I might have to go for it...

Jon66 · 22/03/2018 16:35

We had one for a few years, great fun. Go for it . . .

Imsosceptical · 22/03/2018 16:39

Hey!! Could double up as a birthing pool or all the die hard home birth moms 🤣🤣

RedBlackberries · 22/03/2018 16:39

It's between patio furniture and a hot tub. I'm cold and leaning towards the hot tub Grin

DeleteOrDecay · 22/03/2018 16:43

Sorry op I have nothing useful to add but the term 'sex pond' is genius.

Buxtonstill · 22/03/2018 17:01

I have a lay z spa. Use it 1-2 times a week. It was fab in the snow. It takes about 1 hour 30 to fill with a hosepipe but with the filters you only have to change the water every 6-8 weeks. we don't always have the air jets on; its just like laying in a huge bath, watching films on the ipad. lovely!

Clevs · 22/03/2018 17:14

@CotswoldStrife

We worked it out to be around £1.50 a day. It depends on how you manage the temperature though. If you heat it up from cool/cold every time it uses more electricity than if you keep it warm all the time. We usually knock it down to 34 degrees when it's not in use and then turn it up to 38-40 a few hours before we want to use it. It heats up 2 degrees an hour.

Clevs · 22/03/2018 17:16

@mamahanji You need to allow at least 24 hours to fill, heat and get the chemicals stabilised before you can use it. When we bought ours we started filling on Saturday afternoon and first used it Sunday night.

Clevs · 22/03/2018 17:17

@DryHeave Haha! My pregnancy isn't down to hot tub use, but I would agree with the term 'sex pond'BlushGrin

mamahanji · 22/03/2018 17:52

The partner has said no. So we'll be getting a sex pond this weekend. I'm going to call it my sex pond now and invite people to come round for a dip in my sex pond.

I can't wait for my sex pond.

@Buxtonstill how do you keep your lazy spa out in snow? Mine is packed away as I thought they are not able to be used below 4 c. Miss it so much!

Terfragette69 · 22/03/2018 19:56

I'm single and want one.... Love hot tubs..... More than sex, which is lucky really but nosy neighbours will perve!

Buxtonstill · 22/03/2018 23:18

The trick with using them in the cold is to activate them before it gets too cold. If you try to start the heating when it’s freezing, you will get an error code. We keep it running at 32-34 degrees and just ramp it up to 40 a couple of hours before getting in. I have some of the large bubbles bubble wrap that I wrap around the pump, but I can’t see it freezing all the time the hot water is running through it! We love using it in the cold; and Christmas Day wouldn’t be the same without a reading soak. We were in there on New Years Eve this year, drinking champagne and looking up at the fireworks going off across London.

Yambabe · 22/03/2018 23:33

Trust me, if there's one thing a hot tub isn't it's a "sex pond" Sad

They might portray it a such on the telly and in films but in real life? Nope. Pretty much impossible at any angle......

WTF - another old thread showing up in Trending!

We have a sex pond, I often go out and see the coupling taking place. Annoyingly the amorous couple get quite noisy when negotiating their liason.
