yes, know how you feel...my bath is over running.

rabbleraiser · 08/05/2007 20:15

Yes, it's crap isn't it. Not unreasonable at all!

Now eff off and get some bloody work done

runnyhabbit · 08/05/2007 20:17

lol

the house would be so much tidier.....

dh has threatened to either a)disconnect the internet, or b)join it himself

although he did post when ds2 was born, as mr runnyhabit

penmack · 08/05/2007 20:19

my dh did comment that if i spent less time marvelling at how much cleaning everyone was doing in the housekeeping thread and actually did some we might not be living in such a hovel

lucykate · 08/05/2007 20:20

sometimes i wish the computer would just break

someone make me flounce, pleeeeeease.

morningpaper · 08/05/2007 20:20

I left my child in the bath tonight with the water running

(I could hear them chattering)

I went in and they were both bright red and COOKED! It was BOILING! I had to drag them out and flannel them down

LoveMyGirls · 08/05/2007 20:21

At last a group of people who "get" where i'm coming from. There I was being made to feel like a freak cus im a MN addict

NoodleStroodle · 08/05/2007 20:22

I'm not exactly where my DC are or what they are doing. DH was sorting but went to the pub...

lucykate · 08/05/2007 20:23

yes, mp i blame you for my recent renewed interest. i thought i had this place licked, but then i got a mention in the last round up, and there you go, hooked again.

NuttyMuffins · 08/05/2007 20:29

I stayed off all day today, and seriously for at least the first two hours I regularly looked longingly at the computer

penmack · 08/05/2007 20:31

it like and addiction. i say to my self i'll just have half an hour having a quick look and before you know its midnight, and you've spent 4 hours talking about panty liners

Lizzer · 08/05/2007 20:36

Oh LOL! I thought this was another conniedescending 'I'm leaving mumsnet again, again' thread!

How refreshing for it not to be

I love wasting my precious time....(I had five years off in the middle and didn't get anymore housework done so that proves its not that bad!)

feedmenow · 08/05/2007 20:46

I have to hide my mumsnet habit from dp cos I think he thinks I'm a raving lunatic just using it occasionally, let-alone every day for hours at a time!! Whenever I come on the computer, I have another internet window open on my bank accounts or email account just so that I can quickly switch over if he walks in......

teanogue · 08/05/2007 20:46

I took drastic measures recently when I really, really needed to concentrate on an important exhibition that was coming up.

So, I de-registered and psychologically I found that it completely helped me to switch off from MN and I was able to resist the temptation.

NoodleStroodle · 08/05/2007 20:47

What were you exhibiting?

teanogue · 08/05/2007 20:49

Paintings

fryalot · 08/05/2007 20:49

Teanogue - but that just spawned hundreds of threads saying things like "where is TnOg?????" so thereby fuelling everyone else's mumsnet addiction as we logged on to see if there was any word from you

teanogue · 08/05/2007 20:53

Oh yeah, I'm sure.Nobody except maybe you and mummylin would look for me and wonder if I had been hit by a bus

bamamama · 08/05/2007 20:56

This doesn't bode well. I'm new to MN and already it's becoming a serious habit. I've found I've started quoting people to others as if a)everyone is interested in the latest tiff on the sleep thread and b) as if I know them. I've also just realised I'm sitting in the dark. This really isn't good.

friendlyedjit · 08/05/2007 21:02

I'm also pretty new and worried about the addictive nature of this.
I remember the days when having a G+T and would relax with dear OH on a Sat night, watch a bit of Dr Who have a laugh... and now sit down and feel the fnger tingle coming on and before I know it am seated in front of the "puter" dd3 of 2 calls it tapping away!!
Is there a MN anon?

lucyellensmum · 08/05/2007 21:20

morning paper, you are joking of course? aren't you????

Far be it from me to judge, no bloody work done today while dd asleep so had to jump between playing and housework today, NOT GOOD.

MN has made me a BAD MOTHER, seriously!

LoveMyGirls · 08/05/2007 21:20

FGS dont start selling on ebay it's made me worse and i honestly didnt think there was room for me to get worse!
see how bad this is?

LoveMyGirls · 08/05/2007 21:21

i honestly can't remember what we used to do before mn......................we do still have friends and i still work etc but i pop on throughout the day, I have been known to be on here when friends pop round

I need help.

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 08/05/2007 21:22

'I've also just realised I'm sitting in the dark' pmsl! I have done that too!

bamamama · 08/05/2007 21:34

a combination of MN and ebay is just lethal... top tip never go on ebay on a Friday night after a restorative glass of red (or three). This is how I found myself the proud owner of a 1920s rail touring map of the Scottish Borders...
