Milk doorstep deliveries

Hello, I'm new here.

I just wondered: is anyone having trouble with doorstep milk deliveries from a certain very big multinational company?

Milk&More? Yes!

billybagpuss · 22/03/2018 07:25

Thats a bit of a wide area of discussion. My mum cancelled my milk about 10 years ago as they seemed incapable of not delivering when we were on holiday and DM doesn't like semi skimmed milk, I've been using supermarket ever since. But not sure what your getting at.

DooDooBounceBounce · 22/03/2018 07:48

Thank you, TerfyMcTerface - you've got it in one.

I'm glad I'm not alone - there's a disaster brewing, I think.

Really? That’s where my milk delivery comes from. Never any problem. What’s going on?

MoonriseKingdom · 22/03/2018 07:56

That’s interesting. We cancelled our Milk and More a few months ago sadly due to problems. They had been reliable previously but started having frequent mistakes eg salted instead of unsalted butter.

TerfyMcTerface · 22/03/2018 07:59

Bad combination of new website and the weather, I think. My issue is getting refunds for non-delivery. You pay up-front now, so non-deliveries have to be refunded. Except they don’t refund, and then you have to sit in a phone queue for 20 minutes before being cut off. I would cancel our regular order, but we live in a village with no shop.

whifflesqueak · 22/03/2018 08:03

Yeah I live miles away from a shop too.

Hope they don’t fuck up. I don’t like UHT.

whifflesqueak · 22/03/2018 08:04

They were on the radio recently talking about how business has boomed since the Blue Planet phenomenon and everyone trying to reduce consumption of plastic. Maybe they are struggling to keep up.

CaMePlaitPas · 22/03/2018 08:09

Why do people do that? Why do people say " a certain well known brand" or "a certain very big multinational company". You're not on TV, you don't have to peddle faux-neutrality, just tell us the name of the bloody company.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 22/03/2018 08:10

I think the demand following many news pieces has probably impacted their ability to keep up with orders.

TerfyMcTerface · 22/03/2018 08:58

I’ve just come off the phone with them. The issue is the new website, which seems to be removing orders, and then the order is not on the system showing as requiring a refund. I’ve been told it will take “at least” two weeks to process my refund! Really pissed off with them. It’s all worked like clockwork for the last ten years, and the minute they change their system it all goes to pot.

BMW6 · 22/03/2018 09:02

I wonder if these problems have arisen following the takeover by Mueller.

EastMidsMummy · 22/03/2018 09:37

Yes, to "a certain well known brand" bollocks on here:

"Had a problem with a certain well known store recently (Think Every Little Helps)"

FFS, people, why do you do this???

DooDooBounceBounce · 23/03/2018 06:51

The problem is the closure of the website and introducing another: see Trust Pilot for full picture.

What has happened to the information that was on the old system (- I'm worried about it; don't know ablout other ex-customers)?

And what about the milkman and his livelihood if we all cancel?

Oldsu · 23/03/2018 06:57

Never had any problems with them we pay fortnightly in arrears and apart form non deliveries in the snow which is understandable they deliver on time and my order is always ok, however that MAY be because I don't so anything on line and use the old fashioned method of filling out their paper order forms that they send and putting the cash in the empty bottle.

Dunkling · 23/03/2018 07:11

Not had any problems. But, regarding paying up front comments. do you know you don't 'have' to do this and can have doorstep bills and payment. Means I pay monthly after delivery. Maybe that's just regular milk delivery though or items on doorstep leaflets.

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 23/03/2018 08:23

I didn’t know about this. My brother is a Milk&More milkman, I hope this is just a blip and that his job is still safe. He can’t take anymore bad luck :(

BothersomeCrow · 23/03/2018 09:31

Not had any problems here, other than milk 10 hours late when roads were blocked by snow one day. Sometimes had a blip when the usual milkie goes on holiday.

1NeedPampering · 24/03/2018 22:24

I don’t want to pay for milk in advance and it seems to be a nightmare looking at Trustpilot reviews. I’ve been paying monthly after delivery by direct debit which gives some protection but I’m not allowed to continue.

I’ve tried phoning but 20-40 mins wait is taking the p*. They don’t answer e-mail, nor does their MD. Ordering via the milkman could be a workaround - but doesn’t exactly fit when we’re often away and can’t leave a note out!

This all pales into insignificance when you read the privacy policy and realise how many ‘partners’ they share huge amounts of your data with including FB! You have to agree T&Cs (which you’re supposed to check before every order) and Privacy before you can register - but heigh ho, they share your data even if you’re just an unregistered browser.

All I want is environmentally friendly milk in glass bottles and to support our local milkman (who is wonderful). So sad

ilovesooty · 24/03/2018 22:29

I'm lucky. I've just moved house and my lovely next door neighbour is a milkman so he delivers my milk. Grin

Rolypolybabies · 24/03/2018 22:46

Yes.. Had a whole week of milk delivered one day. None the next. About to cancel and try someone else

rememberthetime · 24/03/2018 22:55

I missed a delivery Monday due to snow. Then thete was an additional delivery and a missed delivery agsin. Upshot is I am missing two bottles I have already paid for. I'm hoping they adjust next month's invoice.
