Do you think that 6 is too old for a soft play party?

no.

FastandLoose · 21/03/2018 13:06

No, assuming they want a soft play party. Why would it be?

user380968 · 21/03/2018 13:06

No way; perfect age. It is 6 not 10

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 21/03/2018 13:06

No. We had one for our six year old and I think we had one for our 7 year olds as well. Even at 8 they were still being invited to parties at the local place.

itstheyearzero · 21/03/2018 13:06

No!

PaperdollCartoon · 21/03/2018 13:07

6 is exactly the right age for a soft play party! Why would it be too old?!

Soubriquet · 21/03/2018 13:07

No Confused

My friend had their 40th there after hours. You're never too old for a soft play party

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 21/03/2018 13:07

I took my 9 year recently and she loved it. The 7 year was still finding some slides scary. I suppose on the set up. This one has lots of big equipment that 6 year old would perfect age.

RatOnnaStick · 21/03/2018 13:09

Six is fine. Ds1 had a disco soft play party for his 6th. We were at the local one for ds2's friend last weekend (age 5) and there were parents there with older siblings at an 8th birthday at the same time.

blackteasplease · 21/03/2018 13:09

Definitely the best age! 5-7/8 I reckon is the idela range.

You don't want to do it any younger as they will want you on there with them!

BarbarianMum · 21/03/2018 13:10

Absolutely. By 6 it should be all make overs and lazer quest. Wink

NinjagoNinja · 21/03/2018 13:11

Of course not!!

Stompythedinosaur · 21/03/2018 13:13

It is not too old if that is what the child wants.

But we haven't had any invites to soft play parties in y2, seems like most kids are favouring different types of party around 6-7.

twinklz · 21/03/2018 13:13

That’s a definite no then! I thought so, Thanks everyone. I just overheard someone saying something, Just wanted reassurance that I wasn’t going mad lol

I’ve just remembered my DS did have soft play for his 7th birthday. They also have laser quest there and the kids loved it.

firawla · 21/03/2018 13:30

About 8 is when the soft play parties tend to die down I’ve found. 6th birthday is still in year 1 so definitely not too old

elliejjtiny · 21/03/2018 13:36

No. My 11 year old still loves softplay although the small one near us is a bit tame for him these days and he much prefers the massive one that's miles away.

madamedepoppadom · 21/03/2018 13:38

There used to be one in my town that had two sections, one for under-5s and the rest was open to anyone up to 15! My DC loved going there on their own with their friends when they were 12 and up, so I don't think you're ever too old really, unless the rules of the place say so.

Ktay · 21/03/2018 13:48

You sometimes see places advertising a 'soft play' area and all it amounts to is a couple of gym mats, a small ball pit and a Little Tikes cozy coupe. Is it possible they had that sort of thing in mind??

MrsFogi · 21/03/2018 13:52

No assuming it is a decent soft play. My dd has been to two this year and she is year 5 (10 yo) and they all seem to love them still (not least because it is the only time they go to the soft play now).

Chattymummyhere · 21/03/2018 13:53

By mid yr 1 so 6yr olds soft play invites stop and bowling/laser force/swimming etc come instead. I can’t think of any 7yr old school who have had one. Although my brother had his 18th at one.
