RyanAir flight cancellation

Hi all, need some advise please. We had a Ryanair flight to malaga (flying tomorrow Thursday 22nd) which has been cancelled and the only option they are providing us is that we fly on Tuesday or Wednesday . We will lose all the money in hotel booking. They are not providing us option to fly with another airline on Friday. There are no direct flights unless we pay 10 times the cost of our ryanair flight. I am surprised how they can get away with this. please advise.

Legally they have to allow you to fly with another airline if one is available so challenge this.

It is in their terms and conditions that they can cancel flights at any time due to operational reasons. As it is cancelled and not delayed, you might not be entitled to the EU protections. Do you have travel insurance? The only thing you could do is claim the cost of your hotel against your travel insurance for a refund.

This is the issue with Ryan Air- You get what you pay for. The owner famously said he doesn't care about customer service. If you want more guarantees, fly a full service airline like BA.

Just to add, yes they have to reroute you with another airline, but they are currently being sued by the CAA because it is their policy not to and they are refusing to. So you can certainly try but your best bet is to call your travel insurance and see if they will cover alternative flights. Its easiest with customer service to be specific. IE have 2 flights that work for you on alternative airlines that work with your schedule.

In the future, never fly Ryan Air- they are thieves.
