Name changed for this.
I was having sex 2 days ago with dp, tried a new position, all was fine until something went pop. We obviously stopped but I had a feel and there was blood but within 10 minutes I'd stopped bleeding. Since then I've used a mirror to have a look and I think there's a small tear in my peroneal (I apologise if I spelt that wrong). I've been able to pass urine fine but when it comes to anything else I've not yet (odd for me in this amount of time) and if I try to strain it stings and feels like I might open it up again (looks like it's healing nicely). So please oh wise Mumsnet, what would you do? Is this worth a trip to the doctors? Do I take a stool softener? Help me!!!!

No straining and take it easy. No wiping too hard either. Soft wet wipes for now and drink a lot.

Go to the docs. If there is an open wound, even small and you smear poo across I, you are asking for an infection.

Idontdowindows · 19/03/2018 22:53

Not really Bobbiepin. If she keeps it clean it's not a problem. It's only a problem if you don't clean the wound there. Unless it's a big tear, a doctor is really not needed, just some common sense and cleanliness.

Betadine to clean and go to the Dr if it looks inflamed, gets itchy or sore or doesn't heal within about a week.

You can buy stool softener from boots. It's orange and horrible but it works! I had to get some when I was on iron tablets.
If you feel the need to 'go' just sit on the toilet and let it all happen naturally. No straining, so hurrying it along, just sit and hope for the best.
