To call in sickness tomorrow because of this?

I have bursitis in my knee, it's been getting steadily worse over the past two weeks and it has probably been caused through work. I'm a community nurse and kneel on floors a lot.

These past few days its become really bad, I tried going swimming on Friday and it locked up half way across the pool - if it had been deep water I don't know what I would have done - it was too painful even to swim.

I've been told to dose up on ibuprofen and rest and elevate it. I'm due back at work tomorrow, I'm not normally a "sick note" but I'm worried it's never going to get better if I don't let it heal through this episode. Although I feel fine in myself, wibu to call in sick Monday and Tuesday so I can give it two full days of rest?

Just to add I'm on bank contract so don't get paid if I don't go in so it's not like they'd be paying me to sit at home.

It sounds sensible to give it a chance to heal by resting as your doctor has advised. YANBU.
