If a male judge (33) had done this to a female contestant (19) I would find this at the least very unsettling. AIBU to think - why should this be any different for a male contestant?

I can believe it, she is a mess, so full of herself to force herself on this lad. To completely ignore his belief that a first kiss should be important and with someone special, she should be made accountable for her actions.

Eww, this was horrifying to watch.

It was so arrogant of her 1) to assume everyone has the same values as her - when he said 'I can't kiss a girl if I'm not in a relationship', I took that to mean that's his view and how he chooses to conduct himself, not 'oh, that's not true, of course you can, look!', and 2) to assume she's so universally attractive that she would be doing any random person a favour by kissing them.

Just watched a video of what happened. What a vile creature Katy Perry is. The poor guy said no and looked around for someone to step in and end the situation.

I have to strongly disagree with you there @Lordof The guy in question actually didn't make a big deal of it at all, he didn't say anything when it happened, remember this was filmed months ago. It's only now that it has aired and people are taking about it that he's been asked his opinion and he's stated it pretty calmly ie " I was uncomfortable with it" not "Katy Perry is literally the devil and this was the worst thing to ever happen to me. Or anyone. Ever. Aaaargh"

Tbf the nuns death isnt the fault of Katie Perry. They sold something that they didnt have the right to sell (and the court found in favour of Katie Perry) whilst being judgy fuckers. So its sad the nun died, but she brought all the pressure on herself.

What double standard?! Most people are saying it was wrong of her, some will defend her, just like any famous man ever accused of assault or rape gets people jumping to their defence too.

I saw a video on fb of it and was cringing- KP is so arrogant to assume this young guy would feel so honoured to have his first kiss with her.

Felt very sorry for him as he’s forced into a situation on national tv he clearly didn’t want to be in and no one stepped in to help him, and yes, if he’d been a 19 year old girl and one of the male judges had behaved in the exact same way it would be looked at very differently.

How is he looking for publicity? The people that filmed and make this show aired it themselves. He didn't run to the papers or do a kiss peck-and-tell

Personally I think it's all blown out of proportion. I also think it's staged. I also think Katy Perry is really annoying, fake and desperate for fame at an embarrassing level. With that said, I watched a video of her on Youtube some months ago of her Superbowl performance and was shocked that I was quite impressed by it and liked it.
