The 4 month sleep regression. I'm posting here for traffic somewhat but I'm on the verge of losing my mind. My baby is in the middle of this and it's killing me.

It's been a few weeks now and I'm getting progressively less and less sleep. Baby is ebf and the biggest space o had between waking/feeding last night was 2 hours. My oldest was bottle fed by the time she went through this so I don't know what to do.

DH is helping as much as he can by getting up.and settling her when she'll let him but I feel like I'm about to fall apart. Any advice welcome.

Not much advice rather than hopefully some comfort in that the majority of us have probably been through the same and made it out the other side!

It's hard! So hard. In the middle of a sleep regression/teething phase with DS and struggling to keep my eyes open. You might find some help on the sleep board.

Have you tried white noise? That was a big help for us at that stage.

Can't offer too much advice but you have my heartfelt support 🙁 a friend used to play music (classical maybe?) very softly in DCs room. It didn't help my children but she swore up and down that it worked for hers. Worth a shot? Hang in there it will pass soon

Will your baby take a bottle? Could you express and get your DP to do a night?

Teachtolive · 15/03/2018 07:20

Thanks for the replies. We have a little thing that at a music for her but right now all it seems to do is attract her attention so not too helpful in the sleep aspect.

The bottle is a nice idea but she'll scream the house down waiting for it to be warmed and we've just started to have some success in getting our toddler to sleep last 530 (why do children hate sleep so much?!)

I feel like I might die from tiredness! Roll on the teenage years where they sleep til midday.

*past 530, not last

Breast milk keeps 4 hours at room temperature. If you pump and go to sleep that could be minimum 4 hours sleep.

It's so shit, mine was awful. He's 9mo now and so much better! It will improve!

Teachtolive · 15/03/2018 07:41

Oh really Eltonjohnssyrup? I thought it was only 2. Thanks for that. Might give that a go.
