Ok, to be fair to DH, I’m not a mother, but still I’m friends with mothers, I had a mother, and we have a cat. WIBU to tell him he’s a mother for not thinking of me?

Your problem is the cat. It thinks you should give him/her a present. If you had a dog they would have made your DH get you something.

mimibunz · 11/03/2018 17:51

I hadn’t thought of that! In fact, I spent the day waiting on said cat with treats, play, everything he loves. (Perusing Dogs Trust website)

Cats are bastards Grin

DalekDalekDalek · 11/03/2018 17:53

How old is your cat? If they are a kitten then obviously your DH should have bought you something but if they are fully grown then they should be going out and buying you a gift themselves. Really this is on you for not teaching your cat responsibility.

TooManyPaws · 11/03/2018 18:00

My dogs bought me a Queen of the Castle keyring. OK, I had to buy and pay for it, but it's really from the the dogs. Fffffff.

The cats are just selfish dicks.

mimibunz · 11/03/2018 18:05

Dalek you are so right! (Hangs head in shame) He’s 11 and I’ve obviously not taught him to treat others with respect. And yes, as a cat he’s a natural dick, so I should have countered those instincts with seriously reinforced training. I’m fairly certain my niece with a German Shepherd got a card and bf in bed! Hmm

I'm also a cat momma and I got nothing from him but some passive aggressive looks every time I walked past his bowl and didn't put food in it! Bastard.

Nikephorus · 11/03/2018 19:04

I got cards, cuddles AND a nearly dead mouse (it died of shock shortly after rescue). I feel thoroughly spoilt.
(And now I'm wondering if the mouse was a mother!!!!)

MamaLupine · 11/03/2018 19:08

When my kids were giving me their presents the dog was in the thick of it all as usual. He then went away, got his best toy, dropped it in my lap and went away again. You should definitely get a dog. That'll learn the cat.

MamaLupine · 11/03/2018 19:09

My mother's Day gift from dog. It's definitely not soaked with dog spit or smelly.

He’s spent the day hiding in the bedroom today so either he’s remorseful he’s not made an effort or he’s been busy changing the sheets and presenting my gifts

agedknees · 11/03/2018 19:51

My dog got me a card and a dvd of the orient express. He’s a very clever dog.

DippyDiplodocus · 11/03/2018 20:10

I have four dogs, they were all very generous.

My Labrador brought me her favourite lobster toy, closely followed by my slipper (just one). She likes to pretend that she's really good at retrieving. She's not.

My lurcher gave me both his front paws, without me having to ask for them. An hour later he presented me with a scrunched up sock. He's been keeping that for a while.

The border collie let me brush the mud out of his rump hair. An absolute honour!

And the Czech Wolfdog came to me with a lovely wound on his side that I had to clean up and mend (don't worry I'm a vet nurse).

The ducks were generous too, they brought me two great big lumps of mud, which were larger than their heads, still attached to their beaks.

The chickens didn't get me anything. Chickens are much like cats in bird form.

Happy Mother's Day to me Smile
