First Mother's Day

Oh returns home this morning, two bunches of flowers... "xxxxx has picked you some flowers"

Lovely. I'm excited. I go the bag

"Wow, which are mine?" (Two bunches. One ugly. One lilllies).

"My Mother's fave are lilies, others are yours"

We've been together 3 years. I've told you 9882743 lillies are MY fave.

I'm upset.

I would be upset too tbh and I would save it for another day to remind him I love lillies

amiadiva · 10/03/2018 20:43

P.s xxxxxx is 7 months old. She didn't pick them!!!

Do you have children.....?

MrsMaxwell · 10/03/2018 20:47

X-post sorry

TheMadGardener · 10/03/2018 20:47

Your DH is an idiot. But I wouldn't have lillies in the house if you have pets as they are extremely toxic, especially to cats.

MereDintofPandiculation · 10/03/2018 20:49

Which flowers are ugly?

PeerieBreeks · 10/03/2018 20:50

Instead of 'which are mine?' you should have said 'oh wow, you remembered I love lilies, thank you so much!'

You'll know next time ;)

amiadiva · 10/03/2018 20:52

I don't even know what they are. Label said "happy bunch" from Asda

Lillies also from Asda if that makes a difference.

I'm not even bothered they're ugly. Just that "lillies are her fave" while knowing they're mine

TathitiPete · 10/03/2018 20:56

Well for one carnations are ugly.

OP that is shit. Is it too late to say "Really? They're your mum's favourite? Mine too! So I'll just keep these. I'm sure your mum will be just as happy with the bunch you were going to give me."

frasier · 10/03/2018 20:59

Are they her fave or did he just know they were someone's fave?

Efrig · 10/03/2018 21:05

He’s known his mum for a lot longer than three years though hasn’t he? Wink

Takfujuimoto · 10/03/2018 21:24

Maybe you DD grabbed the ugly bunch and he just went with it?

I am in no way bothered by Mother's Day so I can't feel riled up on your behalf, just go and treat yourself to something later in the week.

Bright side is you've got 52 weeks ahead to up your hinting gameGrin
