To think I could get a positive pregnancy test after four negatives?

Driving myself mad here. 38, TTC #2 naturally after successful IVF #1. Been trying since periods returned six months ago, no luck. Very regular 28 day cycle. Today is day 29, no period.
I feel Pregnant. Same cramps as last time.
Had what I think were implantation cramps last Saturday (day 22). Done 4 cheap HPTs over the last three mornings. Not even a faint line. Just bought a clear blue. The control window didn’t show up - meaning the test hadn’t worked.
I could cry!
Am I pregnant? I really hope so. We can’t afford more IVF and we’d love a sibling.
I have one more clear blue to try in the morning. Could it still be positive?

It's possible unless/until your period arrives. I was almost a week late with both DC before I got a positive.

I did, but it was in the long ago days when the Dr had to do the tests. After four negative tests I got a positive at last (at 8 week pg). Son is now 31.

Yes it’s possible. I had to have my hcg tested as soon as I found out I was pregnant with DD due to previous ectopic. I had the blood test at 4 +1 so day after period was missed and it was 25. Many pregnancy tests won’t show up until 50

Get a FRER they're more reliable than clear blue especially if you have a dodgy batch

I know the urge to test is enormous when you are desperate to be pregnant but I waited until I was 1-2 weeks late when I spent 2 periods of 2 years trying to get pregnant. The tests are quite expensive and I eventually found I had success when I stopped plotting the days and just got back to enjoying our love life rather than trying to conceive as we found it very stressful which is not good for getting pregnant.

I would relax and take another test next week. Don’t stress yourself out with it right now. Being stressed isn’t so great for TTC or so I’ve been told.

That happened to me! I reckon I was about four days late on a regular 28 day cycle before I got my positive and had tested negative on an 'early' test a few days, before period due, and then again a few days, later and a few days after that so had three negatives, one two days after period due! Fingers crossed for you!
