To take time off work?

I work in a very physical job, I am on my feet all day and have to do a lot of heavy lifting in my job. Recently I have been experiencing blackouts/dizzyness/fainting in the work place. I have been sent home on a number of occasions. I've seen a doctor and they are unsure what is causing them. DH thinks they are stress related and wants me to take time off on the grounds of stress/fatigue. Doctor is happy to sign me off too. I'm the type of person that hates calling in sick and feels awful even having one day off. I work in a stressful environment and have small children to look after on my day off. I am terrified of how this will look on my record if I went off sick.
