I was suppose to be getting s callback from my doctor. That was 2 hours ago.

I genuinely know how busy they are and they are fitting these calls inbetween appointments.

But I'm worried that I now won't get a call and I had to leave the house in 30 minutes.

Ring them back and ask them to ring your mobile? Yes it’s normal... can take up to the end of morning surgery in my practice

Astrid2 · 09/03/2018 11:15

My practice say they could call anytime between 9 and 4!

I rang my doctor at 8.30 yesterday and was called back at 6.20 - ask them to call your mobile

eve34 · 09/03/2018 11:17

Our ring back service is one doctor making all the call. Calls can be anytime between 9-1. Then afternoon surgery calls are between 2-5.

Wishiwasholsk · 09/03/2018 11:17

They will ring my mobile but I have an hour appointment at 12 where I can't answer calls.

Did they not give you a time frame? We're usually told before lunch if you call in the morning, then in 2 hour windows after lunch. Perhaps give them a call back and ask them to contact you on a mobile number if possible?

lougle · 09/03/2018 11:18

Yes, that's a normal wait time for a call back - they'll call at the end of surgery. Another time, give a mobile number if you can. Generally speaking, they assume that if you really need to be seen/called that day, you wouldn't be leaving your home. In reality, it's not always like that, but it's the way 'urgent' care is seen.

Wishiwasholsk · 09/03/2018 11:24

Like I said they will call my mobile but there's an hour time frame that I can't answer.

They said they'd call me this morning. That was the only sort of time frame I got.

That sounds normal, there are a lot of viruses going around and my GP's schedule is always packed because of it.

LifeBeginsAtGin · 09/03/2018 11:47

It's normal. I was booked in for a 2pm telephone appt and got the call at 6pm.

It's a pain when you want to go out but I just think there some really poorly patients who need the GP's time more than I do.
