I’ve been with my partner for 13 years we have a DD and things are not going so well. We have a large mortgage been paying for the last 12 years. If we split up where do I stand ?

Sorry to hear things arent going well at the minute

Are you married? Is the house jointly owned?

Perfectdisaster · 07/03/2018 01:22

In that case then I think if the house gets sold you take 50% of the equity (I'm not 100% sure how it works but I think it's the value of the house minus what you owe on it and minus any fees from selling, whatever is left you get 50%) I'm sure somebody with better knowledge will be able to correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm really not sure about that sort of stuff but hope you are ok x
