I have a mole on my inner eyelid which I've just is itchy and getting bigger. It's also an irregular size.. I got a Gp appointment for end of March but I have been on google too much and now freaked out that I have cancer Blush

Aibu to ask my Gp to see me earlier?

Did you say what it was for when you booked the appointment?
Suspected melanoma has to be seen asap with a consultant appt booked within 2 weeks.
I had a dodgy mole on my leg last year, the receptionist booked me in for same day emergency appt when I explained why I needed to see GP. I was then given an apt at the hospital with a consultant by the GP and saw consultant and had mole removed within 10 days. It was benign luckily but I was really reassured by the speed of the process and I was told about the 2 week turnaround for suspected melanoma was nationwide.
Maybe ring GP back tomorrow

I did say what it was for but the receptionist I think was a temp, so perhaps wasn't entirely sure if I should have been seen sooner..
maybe I should ring back tomorrow morning.

Thank you for sharing, and glad it was benign

I've just googled it to make sure I'd told you the right thing and I was slightly wrong. The 2 week turnaround is from seeing your GP to seeing a Consultant. Not in total. So I might have just been lucky that I was given an emergency appointment the same day.
Thank you. It's a worrying time though as you go straight to thinking worst case scenario so I would def ring GP back tomorrow to see if there are any earlier appts, just to get your mind put at rest. Flowers

Ooh thanks whatif

I will try to call again at the Gp anyway.. I suppose I have been waiting around for a few weeks now.

I have private health insurance, is it worth goin through them or I guess maybe I will just go via the nhs route as it sounds like they take this pretty seriously anyway?
