Camper insurance

When I insure my van with business insurance the insurers always say I can't drive any other vehicles and be insured. Does anybody know if it will be the same with a camper?
Can't ask them because they are not up and you are.

Insurers have different terms. Some of them say named drivers only others say anyone (over a certain age no convictions) with the permission of the main driver. The latter is usually much more expensive. It is possible to temporarily add naked drivers too.

Go online and look at policies on websites. Google 'campervan insurance any driver' and see what comes up.

Do you mean you're looking to have 3rd party insurance on any other vehicle included as fully comp on a 'main' vehicle?

You can be insured to drive others and be insured, your business insurances is simply saying that they don't. I have 3rd party insurance for other vehicles for free but that's with decades of no claims, a lot of ringing around and 3 fairly high-value vehicles all insured with them. You can often have it as an add-on but it isn't frequently included as it used to be.

If you aren't 100% sure, don't drive.

For what it's worth, we insure our camper with SAGA - a different broker to our other cars.

You know it never occurred to me until now to wonder if I'd have 3 rd party insurance for another car on my camper van insurance.
They did ask if I owned or had access to another vehicle.
I use Adrian Flux for the van but have another policy for the car with Admiral ( I think)

I'll have to wait til DH is awake before pulling out the paperwork and checking what it says

I've never checked our motorhome insurance for cover on other vehicles, we both have that cover on our car insurance so it's never been an issue.

We insured our MH through a broker called Carol Nash. They're actually specialists in motorbike insurance, but they gave us the best deal by miles when we insured the MH.

Go to Adrian Flux, we've insured our van with them for the last 25 years, brilliant firm.

Looking at MY policy with Adrian Flux I'm insured to drive someone elses car, with their consent , third party only.
