To think my cat thinks I control the weather...

Snow, rain or high winds. (In scotland these can all happen at the same time!)

He yowls to get out... runs out sits hunched over about 1m from the door then dashes back in all while giving me a look of disgust/anger.

He then proceeds to yowl incessantly to get out, while refusing to go outside and looks furious at me when I wont leave the back door open so that he can watch for weather improvements...

Im pretty sure he thinks its all my fault...

Well of course its your fault! He wants the weather changed and his slave is not doing what it is told. Get a grip, woman and change the weather for that poor cat! Grin

Aprilmightmemynewname · 05/03/2018 22:08

Yanbu unless your name is Wincie!!

TroysMammy · 05/03/2018 22:09

It's also your fault that the weather is exactly the same from the back door and the front door.

DalekDalekDalek · 05/03/2018 22:10

If they could snap their fingers at us they would.

Babdoc · 05/03/2018 22:12

My little madam is the same. What really makes me laugh is that, if the weather is awful outside the back door, she insists on me opening the front one and then appears disgusted that it reveals the same weather!

Ontheboardwalk · 05/03/2018 22:12

I have to tell my cat 'it’s not my fault' when there’s bad weather but she doesn’t believe me and makes me suffer.

pandarific · 05/03/2018 22:12

Oh same here! We get The Sulks and The Evil Eyes every time it's raining, or even a bit windy.

Ontheboardwalk · 05/03/2018 22:13

Babdoc yes the disgust that the back door is the same as the front door

justbinthefeckinbyebyebox · 05/03/2018 22:13

Our cat used to think that if it was raining at the back door, the front door would provide better weather!!! Confused
That's when I got that disgusted, it's your fault, yowl!!!

ILikeBigCrisps · 05/03/2018 22:14

Mine goes to the front door to the back door when it raining and hits me if it's raining at both ends of his universe. Today he almost fell out of a window with happiness because there was a ray of sun that made him hot. We have a lot in common

madein1995 · 05/03/2018 22:15

I've not got a cat, but I'm convinced my dog thinks this too. When it's raining she will sit and whinge at me. She likes to sit with the front door open so she can guard her garden and when I refuse as its bloody freezing she goes into a huff and pulls her toys out of her bed in temper. When she comes in after its rained and I dry her with a towel, she then goes into a sulk for me having the cheek to dry her

FlosCampi · 05/03/2018 22:17

Do you remember Mog in the Judith Kerr books?
It was raining in the garden. Mog thought " perhaps the sun is shining in the street?".

She nailed it! My cats seem to think a different door or window will reveal better weather more to their liking. Similarly that the weather outside can completely transform in 30 seconds so it's well worth requesting to be let out again just in case a rainy eve has transformed into a sunny summer morning.

MimpiDreams · 05/03/2018 22:18

Thankfully mine don't blame me. They just sit on the living room windowsill staring forlornly out at the snow all day. They're so depressing, miserable gits.

Wishiwaswonderwoman87 · 05/03/2018 22:20

Glad to see its not just me! Hes so mad at me...

Madein1995- also have a dog, she shakes and trembles like an rspca advert when escorted out for a pee. And then goes and sits in a huff still trembling until she feels her dramatic message is delivered...

I used to have conversations with my cat about this:
Cat: [demanding meow]
Me: you don't want to go outside it's raining
Cat: [slightly angrier meow]
Me: look out of the window it's raining
Cat: [patience wearing thin meow]
Me: OK fine I'll prove it to you [opens door]
Cat: [glares at me for making it rain to prevent her from going outside and demands biscuits as compensation]

Toddlerteaplease · 05/03/2018 22:28

My cats didn't care about the snow. But my parents cut demanded that they make it stop. He totally blamed them!

MrsCrabbyTree · 05/03/2018 23:53

I live down under in OZ and my cat gives me 'the look' when it's scorching outside and also meows for me to change the weather. The best I can do for madam is to place a freezer brick under a towel for her to lie on. My girl is very fluffy and I can only imagine she suffers when it is extremely hot.

TooManyPaws · 06/03/2018 02:52

Yup, one of my late cats was totally convinced that I could turn off the rain. After all, I turned off the shower, didn't I?

kungpopanda · 06/03/2018 03:28

Being a Weather Goddess is - quite disappointing. Where are my worshippers, where the piled sacrifices? Nope, just sulks, pissed-off-cat ears and constant whinging for Treats. Because obviously I like the rain after the snow. Twat of a cat.

LolitaLempicka · 06/03/2018 04:15

Yep, mine does this. He looks at me with absolute disgust then makes a weird whiny sound that sounds exactly like “fuck you”. I love that little bastard.

Vitalogy · 06/03/2018 05:13

I know. I told the cat that stays with us that I can't make the snow go away, he's not listening to me though.

Iruka · 06/03/2018 07:07

I have also been getting the evil eyes because their favourite sunbeam hasn’t been appearing the last few days. They settle into the right spot but no sun!! Then they yell at me until I apologise 😂😂

YetAnotherSpartacus · 06/03/2018 09:26

No offence Kung, but maybe your worshippers need some actual evidence of your powers?

Or maybe they are the Gods and you are the weather slave and you are not doing your job properly?
