On what planet do these absolute arseholes from yodel think it’s ok to just lob your items over the fence!?

My ndns are home! I’m disabled and couldn’t get to the door in time, nor will I be able to get out into my garden and given that it’s going to rain today, not only is my item probably broken from the fall it will also be soaked through from the rain. 😡😡😡
Argh I just don’t get it- don’t fucking throw shit that doesn’t belong to you!
Don’t worry, I said all this to him- usually I think of what to say after the fact but I gave him a right bollocking. He didn’t care one bit. Fucking twat.
And the company I ordered from stated Royal Mail was their delivery company or I’d have bought it elsewhere 😡

I feel you. I was sat looking at my phone, tracking a delivery driver, and saw it change from "on route" to delivered with no one even coming up my drive. The delivery was a bed and I had waited in all day, they did not leave it with a neighbour or in the garden!

I rang the bed company and they were annoyed on my behalf and rearranged delivery. Had to stay in another day Angry.

Can you ask a neighbour to bring it in for you OP? Bribe them with a cup of tea maybe?!

Ellendegeneres · 05/03/2018 11:34

Thankfully my dp saw my rage message and popped by. And thank god the company wrapped it like they knew it’d be launched. Still in perfect working order, my ds will be delighted when he wakes up.
Alls well that ends well I guess.
Still glad I gave the idiot a piece of my mind!

Oh good.

Wonder why the company changed delivery method? Might be worth dropping them an email.

Ellendegeneres · 05/03/2018 11:41

Yeah, I fired something off immediately, pointing out that if they change delivery company I should be informed, and asked for reassurance that they won’t use them with any of my future orders.
I just find yodel all round absolutely horrendous, never had a single experience of them that was positive

Yodel are an appalling delivery company, you have my sympathy. I will Never buy anything from a company that uses them to deliver their items.

Did Yodel used to be DHL? At work we used to use DHL without any problems whatsoever. 90% sure we didn't change contracts (cos it would be so bloody long-winded) but when it became Yodel I noticed at work, and now at home, that they're mostly fucking useless.

iklboo · 05/03/2018 12:15

DHL - Delivered Hours Late

jaseyraex · 05/03/2018 12:39

I once had a card from yodel telling me they'd left my item in my blue bin. Blue bin was out the front for collection. Of course the bin had been emptied before I got home, along with my parcel. I have three other bins round my back garden, why on earth would you put a parcel in one that's clearly on the kerbside for collection?! I wonder if it's a job requirement to be able to think of the most ridiculous things to do with people's parcels.

Glad your item is still working OP!

TheC · 05/03/2018 13:09

asked for reassurance that they won’t use them with any of my future orders.

Do you know how unlikely that is? You think the next time you place an order with them that they’ll remember who you are?

Fluffyears · 05/03/2018 14:32

@thec it might now be on some sort of note on her account.

LakieLady · 05/03/2018 14:44

DP used to live in one of 13 converted flats that shared a front door at ground level. The post was left on a table in the (enclosed, but not locked) porch.

Yodel drivers regularly left stuff in the porch, including something in a box so big that was so big that no-one could get in the building until it was moved. They also used to leave cards saying that they'd tried to make a delivery with no name or number, so no-one knew who the intended recipient was, and never rang the bells for the flats, preferring to dump and run.

They are utterly hopeless, and I won't buy from firms that use them now.

TheC · 05/03/2018 18:37

Oh come on get real. Unless she’s Kate Middleton that isn’t happening.

As a student I worked part time in a call centre assisting with delivery issues. We would have a team that processes your order, then a team in the warehouse who packs it and then it would be sent out.

Which one person in either team gives a shit about checking notes on a customers preferred delivery company.

tigerbasil · 05/03/2018 18:39

I've worked somewhere where notes were put on someone's account and they were checked before sending things/completing an order. Not that wild of an idea.

Alloftheboys · 05/03/2018 18:50

Yup parcel lobbed over the fence and landed on the patio. If they'd dropped it straight over the fence it would have landed on soft earth but no they would have had to give it some welly for it to land where it did.

Plenty of neighbours about as well.
Utter pillocks!
