for being flabbergasted,as well as irritated at Maria Fowler giving herself a huge pat on the back, over on Twitter, for bringing her daughter up without letting her have an ipad or phone. Her child is 18 months old ffs! Why would anyone be so smug about that?

I see plenty of kids at 18 months to 2 years using phones / ipads when out and about. Don't think there is anything wrong with her saying she used to let her child do that but now doesn't let her child do that. I feel guilty every time I use my phone or watch tv in front of my baby, I know it's not good for her, this has actually inspired me to make more of an effort not to do it again.

Who is Maria Fowler?

I agree op, no 2 year old needs their own tablet or phone. Yes, it's fine to let them use a family one on occasion but no toddler needs their own.

I would like to see how smug she is about her parenting in 10 years time.

We all have wonderful intentions as new parents but it generally goes pear shaped somewhere along the line and those resolutions to never let my child have etc just vanish.

Ahh, I'm smug too, none of my kids had been near an iPhone or iPad at that age. Grin

(I won't mention there weren't such things when they were babies/toddlers, I'll just be smug. Wink)
