To panic?

I have called 111, but they are understandable busy and I have got to wait for a call back. Posting here for traffic, hopefully someone else has been as stupid as me.

I have accidentally taken 2 lots of 30/500 cocodamol, so 4 tablets instead of two. I wasn't trying to overdose or get high, I was just distracted and realised after I had taken the second lot that I had already taken them a couple of minutes before.

Am i going to die? Or feel awful? Or will I be ok? 111 are going to phone me back to ask my weight and check if it's a toxic amount, but it's been about 25 minutes now and I'm getting worried.

Calm down. Wait for them to phone you back. If you feel drowsy phone 999 but otherwise just sit down and relax as much as you can. I'm sure you'll be fine.

relax you're not going to die. That dose is given in hospitals sometimes. Check with a dr.

Please relax. I have stupidly done this intentionally when I have had severe period pain as I couldn’t cope. The worst that has happened is I fainted on two occasions.

You've taken two four tablets?

I used to have to take two, then have a snack then take another two, if I felt a migraine coming on.

That's not an issue at all.

You'll be completely fine. You won't overdose on that amount. I don't honestly think it's worth even contacting nhs about.

You might feel a bit sick from the excess paracetamol but that's it.

Calm down, you'll be fine. Either nothing will happen or you may feel a little sick. At worst you'll actually be sick but I doubt that would happen.

Yes, just relax, you won't die. Do not make yourself sick, under any circumstances, they'll call you back shortly.

I've done it with paracetamol. Was just warned I might have an upset stomach. And had to not bf for 24 hours. Don't panic!

I'm on the same medication long term. You won't die - the codine may make you feel nauseous and headachy in a few hours and you may well be constipated tomorrow.

I feel a bit spaced out, but ok. I know the codeine isn't dangerous, I was more concerned about the paracetamol.

To clarify, I took 4 tablets instead of 2.

You'll live, when I hurt my back, in the snow oddly enough years ago, I lost count of how many high powered pain killers I took, especially during the night.

Sugar, before i called i tried to make myself sick, but it didn't work. Can I ask why it's such a no no?

After I gave birth I was in a lot of pain and although I shouldn't have I was taking more cocodomol than I should have. I really wouldn't worry about two extra tablets.

You'll honestly be fine, I've took more than that so don't worry. Just calm down haha. Eat and drink and rest you'll honestly be fine maybe a little drowsy but nothing to worry about

The codeine is fine, 120mg of codeine is very little in the grand scheme of opiates. If you're not used to strongish painkillers (although you're prescribed 30/500s so not opiate naive) you may feel a bit woozy. The paracetamol is probably also fine. The daily limit is 4g and you've taken half that. It's not great for your liver so try not to do it again but, unless you're very thin, 2g is unlikely to be toxic. Don't take any more paracetamol today.

I've done that before and nothing so bad happened. Just by mistake with v bad period pains.

Could you ring your local pharmacy? And speak to a pharmacist straight away? Hopefully that will put your mind at rest or at least they can advise you of what best to do.

I'm 9st so not very skinny, but slim. I feel high, but ok. Still no call back. I have been on cocodamol for about 1.5 years, so I have a decent tolerance. Your replies have been really reassuring thank you.

You can feel a bit wobbly, and you may find tomorrow your guts are going to be on strike, but it won't kill you :)

People going through surgery get stronger pain killers than that.. and they sure as hell don't die from it.
