Anyone else got serious cabin fever being stuck in due to snow?

So we're all stuck in the house, Dh working from home, 3.5 yr old off nursery and me...slowly going mad! Have been baking, colouring etc..but dd has spent a lot of time watching t.v so am feeling guilty. May brave the -4 outside and take her for a walk. Anyone else feeling like they're going crazy? Praying that there's no more snow tomorrow!

Not yet

But we are sat inside waiting for snow

The children's school has been shut all day and we still dont have any

Well a few flakes to be fair...but thats it

Yep! I’m in the house with my 9 month old who is quite easily bored and there’s not a huge amount I can do with him here other than sit on his playmat with toys, watch CBeebies or have a change of scene by going to a different room for a bit so at a bit of a loose end! We usually do at least one baby class a day but ventured out to our local children’s centre to find it shut this morning Sad

patstar · 01/03/2018 13:11

yessssss, bored to tears, work from home - all done. Son is off school with a friend due to snow and broken boiler. Can't drive as too dangerous....think I'll take the dog out for another walk

Sanderz · 01/03/2018 13:11

We've been holed up since Tuesday, toddler, baby and me. When will it be over?

squirrelonapetridish · 01/03/2018 13:11

So boring isn't it?! We were supposed to have her friend round but they live at the top of an icy hill so can't come! Me and Dh already been bickering at each other, just can't face another day of it tomorrow..

We are just getting wrapped up to go and get fish and chips! Dc all keen except ds 16!!

LaGattaNera · 01/03/2018 13:11

Not yet. Am on my own with dog. Been out couple of times with him. Had some porridge & coffee, done my ironing, listening to radio 2 and now watching the news, had a nice shower and washed hair and done a crossword. Would like to be able to get back to the gym tomorrow but don't like driving in the snow and none of my journeys are really important.

specialsubject · 01/03/2018 13:13

Nothing stopping you going out for a walk, assuming you aren't the type on another thread that only owns silly shoes. Take kid out.

BlondeB83 · 01/03/2018 13:13

I’m working from home but keep stopping for tea and biscuits! Not good for the waist line!

patstar · 01/03/2018 13:15

Also listening to Radio 2 - love Jeremy Vine

squirrelonapetridish · 01/03/2018 13:16

Am definitely going to go out for a walk when I can drag her away from Paw Patrol. Even if it's just up the road and back, I need fresh air and to see other humans!

No. Not yet. Snow is due to come in heavy around 2-3pm. My work has been cancelled for the rest of the week so I'm sat in living room listening to Classic FM. I don't plan on leaving my house until Monday.

MrsJayy · 01/03/2018 13:16

Dh has been on holiday meant to be back today working from home but there is no work to organise Dd is off college we are all a little bit stir crazy

halfwitpicker · 01/03/2018 13:17

It's only been two days!

MrsJayy · 01/03/2018 13:17

We are actually snowed in

gethintheway · 01/03/2018 13:18

Not for me, I love getting out there doing photography and the puppy loves it too.

Just made myself a Turmeric latte to warm myself up

Eminybob · 01/03/2018 13:19

Yeah ds has watched far too much telly and is currently watching a film on the tablet. But he doesn’t want to do anything! I’ve tried getting toys and games out but he’s not interested. We went out to play in the snow in the garden for a bit, but he refused to put gloves on and then as soon as he got some snow ok his hands he started crying that he wanted to come in.
I am bored beyond belief, I even did a bit of work form home earlier even though today isn’t a working day for me. I think I’m going to start putting together a cottage pie for tea in a minute. Or maybe have a brew first.

foxessocks · 01/03/2018 13:20

I've been stuck inside since Monday with 4yo and 1yo. We are all.poorly too but not so poorly that they just want to sleep! But poorly enough that we can't go outside. So far today we've done bead craft, colouring, play doh and watched a LOT of tv. I don't feel guilty though - we are usually out and about every day so if we watch too.much t.v. for one week that's fine!

ItchySeveredFoot · 01/03/2018 13:20

Me and the two dc aged 1 and 3 have only just recovered from a stomach bug today so we're a little crazy from that. Taking the 3yo out to build a snowman soon

tygr · 01/03/2018 13:23

Not yet. Am here on my own but the power keeps going on and off. So that'll make it much harder if it goes completely and can't listen to radio/ go on internet (and without central heating). Red weather warning conditions due from 3pm.

Tiddler7 · 01/03/2018 13:25

Why on Earth a bit of snow and a chill stop you from leaving home??? Get the kids out. It's fun! They might even sleep better.

PumpkinPie2016 · 01/03/2018 13:28

Yes, getting cabin fever here! I travelled to work yesterday and then was told we were closing so came home.

Hadn't set off this morning before being told we were closed. DS preschool has also been closed both days and probably tomorrow as well.

I am trying to be productive but it's not really workingConfused

PumpkinPie2016 · 01/03/2018 13:29

Tiddler can't really get out here - drifts several feet deep and blizzards that feel like your skin is being sandpapered!

MrsJayy · 01/03/2018 13:34

Urm we have snow drfts here not going out weather

moita · 01/03/2018 13:38

Yes. My one year old has an awful cold, so been stuck in all week. Put his snowsuit on and took him inside but he wasn't happy and started whining until we were back indoors.

The days are going very slowly.
