To squirt washing up liquid in the dishwasher?

The situation is: full dirty dishwasher. No tablets. Snowstorm so can't/won't buy more.

Should I squirt in the ecover liquid?

Please don't suggest I wash them by hand , I'm too lazy!

Honestly, you're better just running it with no detergent. They'll be clean, just won't have that clean dishwasher squeak to them.

Unless you want a foam party Grin

tired17 · 28/02/2018 12:14

No, please don't do that. You will end up with bubbles erupting from the dishwasher. (Don't know what the solution is though)

Thelampshadelady · 28/02/2018 12:14

Tbh- I would. But not too much. You don’t want a kitchen full of bubbles!

Don't do it!!!!

It Will end up in a huge frothy mess oon your floor. Just run it without detergent

ToftheB · 28/02/2018 12:15

I’ve done it in the past.... wouldn’t recommend it.

LaurieMarlow · 28/02/2018 12:15

Noooo, don't do that. It'll foam up all over the place and cause mayhem.

If the dishes aren't too bad I'd run without a tab and see what they're like after the cycle. The temp of the water does most of the work.

KidLorneRoll · 28/02/2018 12:15

If you want a bubbles all over the shop and a potentially knackered dishwasher, sure.

NoParticularPattern · 28/02/2018 12:16

I wouldn’t squirt it in, more a tiny tiny dribble if you must. But like PP I would probably just run it without one on a slightly hotter/longer wash than usual

Spartacunt · 28/02/2018 12:16

We do it all the time when it's a really greasy load - but usually in addition to the tablet...never had a problem.

ThisMorningWentBadly · 28/02/2018 12:16

Go on! And then post a picture of the results I could do with a laugh today.

Midnightpony · 28/02/2018 12:17

Lol to the foam party- not what I want!!
I'll put in running with nothing so. Thanks all!

Do you have baking soda? Maybe that would work. I wouldn't use dish soap, it will just make a mess of your kitchen.

RoseWhiteTips · 28/02/2018 12:20

Did that once in a French gîte and the foam crossed the kitchen floor - tiled, luckily - and out under the door. 🤣

acornsandnuts · 28/02/2018 12:22

Oh god. I did that years ago and my kitchen was indeed like a night club in San Antonio. Don’t do it. Or do if you have some heavy beats to play while flashing your kitchen lights on and off.

Kursk · 28/02/2018 12:22

I do it all the time, it’s fine as long as you don’t use loads.
