To find leather boots that zip up my calf? Just that really. I wouldn't say my calves are particularly fat. Is it just me?

Nope, same here! It’s so annoying.

Idontdowindows · 27/02/2018 15:03

Same here, so now I buy boots that have both laces and a zip. Zip 'em up, then lace to the correct width.

RandomMess · 27/02/2018 15:04

Duoboots, sale on at the moment!

LeKirby · 27/02/2018 15:08

YANBU!
I have one calf fatter than the other, probably by about an inch. It's not that noticeable but fuck me ive never found a pair of boots that'll get around both!
One will go on fine and the other won't go up at all. Maddening!!

Nocabbageinmyeye · 27/02/2018 15:11

I had this problem but then I bought my boots off Oxendales a few years ago and now I always get them there, you can get different calf sizes

mummmyj · 27/02/2018 15:23

Not just you love, try finding the one with wide calf in the description tend to be much more comfortable anyway 😛😛

londonmummy1966 · 27/02/2018 15:25

Me too - I run a lot so I have very chunky calves - I have to buy elasticated boots or the stretchy sock ones - zip ups never fit.

Skarossinkplunger · 27/02/2018 15:30

JustFab have a good selection of wide calf boots. But just buy them when you need them. DON’T subscribe (bitter voice of experience£

Jayne35 · 27/02/2018 16:16

Simply Be do wide and extra wide calf boots. I recently bought a lovely knee high suede pair with both zips and laces.

mummmyj · 27/02/2018 16:36

Do them in new look too and mine lasted me around 3 years 😃😃😃😃

Allthebestnamesareused · 27/02/2018 16:39

duoboots.com

This company do 21 different calf widths!!

mummyrabbitpeppapig · 27/02/2018 17:41

Eliza9917 · 27/02/2018 17:52

Yours do them

Cleanermaidcook · 27/02/2018 17:54

Marisota online, you can mix calf and foot fitting which is ace if like me you have narrow feet but big calfs.

Avonandice · 27/02/2018 18:42

I gave up and ended up at a saddlers and bought horse riding boots, having fat calves is a nightmare

mummyrabbitpeppapig · 27/02/2018 19:06

NO disrespect but I don't think my calves are fat. i just think, in general, boots are not made to fit the average woman's calves..........
Out of interest, how much did you pay at a saddlers for your boots?

OP posts:
Shizzlestix · 27/02/2018 19:11

SimplyBe. Yes, they do clothes up to a huge size, but the6 also offer very nice boots a big variety of widths from quite narrow to very wide, plus a variety of foot widths.

As a horse rider, I often have this discussion with fellow riders, we tend to have calves of steel due to the muscled up nature riding can cause. You could find a tack shop and try on Ariat Grasmeres (slightly wider than other Ariats) or Mountain Horse brand.

Dljlr · 27/02/2018 19:13

I have the opposite problem, they're all too wide around the legs for me and I end up looking like a cat in a pantomime Sad

RandomMess · 27/02/2018 19:37

@Dljlr look at duoboots I found out about them as I too have unusually slim calves!

Dljlr · 28/02/2018 22:20

Cheers Random, I will do so!

Speedy85 · 28/02/2018 22:25

Try a Boot Band expander perhaps?

couchparsnip · 28/02/2018 22:33

Evans tend to have reasonable boots. Nothing amazing but at least they fit!!

MipMipMip · 28/02/2018 23:21

Little bit in love with Bootbands. I have a pair I really want to fit again.

icelolly99 · 28/02/2018 23:25

Snap dljlr always too big on me to.
