School run in the snow

Sorry am posting for traffic.

Am not moaning about the snow but just a quick query really.
I have a 6 month old, a two year old and an older DD. The snow is really heavy here and deep and I don't drive.

I only have a big heavy double pram. How do I do the school run? I used the pram this morning and it was hell. Kept getting stuck and sliding off the pavement.

Sling for baby and make 2yo walk? Struggle with the pram? Was really hoping the school was closed this morning Blush

Sledge for the toddler? Can anyone help you out? Otherwise you'll have to battle with the pram. Dragging it behind you might be easier than pushing it.

Drag it behind you. I saw a few mums coming out of the school gates with sledges in hand this morning. Our snow is melting by now though. Might be easier at 3pm.

Sling for the baby, sledge for the toddler is ideal. Then next year sledge for both.

Deshasafraisy · 27/02/2018 12:35

Baby in sling, toddler walks or pull along in a sledge.

Elementtree · 27/02/2018 12:41

It's a shame you can't get sledges with isofix fittings really. 😁

Until then, sling and sledge/ ask a willing school mum/ get a taxi

doesthislookoddtoyou · 27/02/2018 12:46

stay home.

Just a word of caution. I used a sling on the school run several winters ago, and slipped on the ice. Baby was fine, but only because I contorted myself so I wouldn't fall on her. I ended up with a badly sprained ankle and couldn't collect them that afternoon!

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 27/02/2018 12:51

She can't stay home stupid she's got to get her kid.

N2986 · 27/02/2018 13:00

Oh god I wish I had a sledge. Thanks for the responses! @athingthateveryoneneeds that's what worries me. I'd be mortified if I fell with lo in the sling.

Think I'm gonna have to brave the buggy. And definitely invest in a sledge for next year. Wonder if I can get one on Amazon for tomorrow?
