I have found a golf ball sized painful lump on my jawline and by my ear anyone know what it is.

It could be an abscess, or it could be gravel blocking the salivary duct.
If you look under your tongue in a mirror, you might be able to see your salivary glands. If you can make your mouth water (maybe think of eating lemons) you can see if one is blocked.

If you can see your GP or use a walk in center tomorrow, the sooner you start treatment the better.

MammaTJ · 23/02/2018 22:37

As upstart says, unlikely to be majorly serious, but needs treatment as will be uncomfortable.

FingersCrossedHard · 23/02/2018 22:38

Under your jaw or behind your ear? If so, it sounds like a gland to me which often get bigger when ill. Do you have a cold/infection at all?

Gide · 23/02/2018 22:38

Mother had similar. Her salivary gland was blocked. She eventually had them removed by the max fax specialist. Not too much hassle. Hope you’re ok, get to the gp ASAP.

Thank you @upstartcow I will check inside my mouth to see if anything is blocked. @fingerscrossedhard it's on my jawline just in front of my right ear I'm not ill I don't have a cold or anything at the minute.
