A tenner on one night is a bit much! I play when it’s a ridiculous amount like tonight, but only one line. Someone will win with the raffle, so not a complete mug’s game, but certainly not worth losing a tenner over. That could have gone on something more substantial, like booze and a takeaway....

I put the lottery on about 3 times a year, one of them being tonight just a lucky dip.. you never know Wink

Odds of winning are considerably less if you don't enter...
Someone's got to win it, why not you?

like any gamble, if you can afford to lose the tenner, then why not?

Buggeritimgettingup · 23/02/2018 10:37

I've bobbed a tenner on for first time in years

I regularly play the lottery even though I know it's really daft. I'm totally aware that I'm just buying into the few moments of daydreaming that it could be me.

But I don't put much on, and I certainly would stop if I couldn't afford it - if you're starting to feel like you must play and you're putting a lot of money down then perhaps it's time to take a break?

I also tend to play in syndicates - there's a regular one at work and one that we only do when the Euromillions is huge. That increases one's chances slightly - it's still never going to happen but it increases it a bit!
