To expect 6yr old to suck it up

Eldest son 8 has woken up sick and lethargic so can't go to school... I'm juggling like mad to get help as both DH and I need to go to work I'm already super late and feeling like my week is going wrong! DS is of course innocent but have had to wait for help to look after eldest who is bed bound before youngest can go to school... he is now in a massive strop and doesn't want to go and thinks eldest might get a film whilst he's at home.... aghhhhhh!

And breathe, and hug 6yr old... and keep going...

Sounds like you are stressed and you are channelling it towards a six year old.

Yes he has to suck it up of course! Just because his brother is sick doesn't mean he gets a day off too. Brilliant logic haha.

Remind him he's lucky to not be sick and you're sure his brother would rather be at school feeling well than laid up at home miserable and poorly.

I hope your day gets better and you have wine later. Also that your big boy feels better.

If you’re sick, and off school, the rule in our house is no TV until after lunch, so can you reassure youngest he’s not missing out and promise hit chocolate & a movie after school?

Rule in my house is if you're sick enough to stay off school, it's bed and reading only.

I tell mine if you give your sibling a hug/kiss you might be lucky and catch it by tomorrow.

Thank god it's over! I have wine. DS 6 got a play date and fun. Ds8 slept most of day now in bed reading everyone was okay in the end thankyou for allowing a vent... ps wine god given

He was too ill for a film refused it then I knew he was ill!!
