To warn you about magnetic putty?

I got the recommendation to buy magnetic putty off the various Xmas threads on here, then yesterday saw this in the news:

There's been quite a lot of coverage off this story, and we bought the exact brand of Amazon, who have since stopped selling it.

Can I also add that it is not great for carpets either?

I've just read this. My son who loves it has developed some sort of skin reaction. We thought it was wind chapped or eczema but this makes me wonder... other kids are fine but they are not as sensitive nor so into the putty :/
