to stop watching Spring/Autumn/Winter Watch now Martin is leaving?

He announced his resignation on Twitter yesterday and is leaving the show (I think he'll be doing Springwatch before going). The BBC tried to axe him two years ago in the interests of diversity but after the viewer outcry they merely changed his role and brought a fourth presenter on, Gillian.

I can't abide Gillian. I've tried but she comes over as all hands and very stilted. Martin is fab and hugely knowledgeable.

I don't think I can watch it without him. I wonder if there is more behind his resignation (ie he does feel he's being pushed out)? Either way, think it a shame.

Martin is wonderful and the program will lose something when he goes. He is knowledgable and enthusiastic too which makes his love of nature infectious. I like Chris and Michaela (apologies if spelt wrong) but Gillian’s style of delivery is so slow and boring.

Martin? Can't place him.

Life You can't be a viewer of those shows and not know who he is.

You will get Packham withdrawal so YABU but completely understandable.

They insist on fiddling with things so it could be another push.

Awww that’s a shame. Martin is brilliant and I totally get what you’re saying about Gillian too. Chris will always be my first love though. Ever since The Really Wild Show!

Will be a shame to lose Martin. He is good fun. And I like it better now they aren't all being quite so silly as a few years ago! Fun, yes. Childish, no thanks!

But I like Gillian. Live TV is a challenge and the other 3 are long time pros so they make it look easy. I think she has been thrown in at the deep end and is doing ok considering she is out on her own and has satellite links and delays etc.

Will be hard to find someone to take Martin's place and join in with the camerarderie they have. Good luck with that!
