1 year old grabbing other children

I'm a first time mum so be kind I'm new at this. Today at plan group my one year old grabbed two children very roughly. I wasn't sat there not paying attention he just moves really quick. When he did it I moved him away quickly with a firm no. Is this a phase all kids through? How do other people discourage and manage this behaviour? Both of the other children were visibly upset

Yes, it’s normal behaviour. I apologise on behalf of child and say “no, that’s not nice. Don’t grab” to child and then distract. At that age, that’s really all you can do.

That's a relief, all the other kids seemed so much better behaved. Felt like it was just me with a badly behaved child
