Just that really, what would you have liked to receive?

They didn't find out the sex of the baby.

Fill their freezer with meals from Cook or similar!! Much more needed when coping with a newborn and I assume a toddler ish first child then any kind of trinket. They will love you forever Grin

I found it was the simple gifts which I appreciated most with DC2.
Things like Muslins which are practical and my previous ones had got a bit raggedy. Also things like bibs and baby socks which either got lost or were a bit worse for wear after DC1.
Baby toiletries, nice ones like Child’s Farm or some of the posh organic ones. With the expense of raising a young family I appreciated these a lot, especially as both of mine have eczema prone skin.
Nothing too pricey or extravagant but greatly appreciated here.

The nice meal idea from pp is a great shout!

I'm pregnant with my second baby and would love to receive any of these:

  • 'I'm going to be a big brother/sister' book
  • Nice branded baby products like Burts Bees, as a bit of a treat / break from all the own brand and Johnson's stuff I tend to buy for day to day use.
  • Cute personalised bits from My 1st Years (can use surname if you don't know the baby name - I got a gorgeous little towel that says Baby Tiffany on)
  • Nice quality basics like white vests, socks, bibs etc from the White Company or Jo Jo Maman Bebe.
  • Baby milestone cards / baby record book
  • Little outfits, rather than just all in one babygrows as I still have hundreds of babygrows from DS1
  • vouchers for a newborn photo shoot (depends whether this is up the mum's alley or not)

Thanks, those are all good ideas to look in to.
