Birthday Cards ?

I’ve read similar threads before and I know opinion is divided but I’d like to know a good idea of how many people disagree/agree with me.

It was recently my DC 1st Birthday and we received hardly any Birthday Cards. The reason I’m upset is I send to all close family
and friends and their children. Because I’d like to think I am thoughtful, value our relationships and think it’s a kind thing to do. Especially a 1st or other significant Birthday.

It’s not my first child btw so I don’t think it’s PFB syndrome. And I get life doesn’t revolve around my kids. Just don’t think it takes a lot to buy a card, pop in the post and make someone smile.

AIBU to feel disappointed? And AIBU to not bother sending cards any more to those people? Or should I carry on because you ‘shouldn’t give to receive’ ?
