Currently 30 weeks pregnant and have had pleurisy and a suspected fractured rib this past week.

I haven't been able to make it into work these past few days.

I have however logged into work (worked from bed) to meet some urgent work deadlines where s**t would've hit the fan potentially if hadn't. Clocked up 7 hours work both days (we time record)

I'm never ill and always work late and weekends so not a piss taker.

Boss has been on holiday but checks emails all time and responds almost ASAP. They're due back tomorrow. I've been liaising with HR.

So I email this boss this afternoon to say been ill but have worked and need to rearrange a non urgent meeting next week.

No response received. I know the email has been seen.

My husband was going nuts when I was working last week saying I need to rest due to baby and let colleagues pick work up and I won't get any thanks. He said he wouldn't do it and brother in law also said he wouldn't work when ill.

I carried on.

Now realise he's right.

Feel like lack of response from boss means they're pissed off at me for being ill and fact I worked from home and kept up with work doesn't make up for that fact.

Feel like they're probably saying bloody pregnant woman - trouble.

No wonder I get walked over and male colleagues less qualified than me get paid more.

I think you're reading s but much into it. He could have his own shit to deal with. I'd calm down, he will respond when he can.

Give yourself a break. Pleurisy fucking sucks even when not pregnant. Plus if you're too Ill to work, you shouldn't be working. Otherwise it potentially sends a message that you're not as Ill as you're making out.

Put the computer down and have a proper break. It will take longer to recover if you don't rest

You have done the right thing, don't agonize over it. It's not your fault if less qualified men are paid more, it's pretty much like that everywhere.

I think you're reading a lot into this (or there's more that you haven't explained?). For example, I've logged in today, but won't reply until tomorrow when I have files and papers in front of me, and when I can collaborate with other colleagues.

Lack of response could indicate that your boss is fine with it.

Thanks all - probably being over sensitive and feeling guilty for being ill. Just used to immediate responses from boss. I'll leave it there and wise up!
