To ask personal trainer for my money back

I hired a personal trainer a month ago & paid £100 up front for 5 sessions. I've had 2 sessions, he cancelled the last two & he's just cancelled tomorrows session. I don't want to make any more arrangements with him, I hate unreliable people.
Am i unreasonable to ask for my money back for the next three sessions? what if he refuses & how do I word the message? What if he refuses?

YANBU at all to ask for your money back.
I'd just say "Hello X, as you've had to cancel the last 3 of my 5 sessions could you please refund me £60 so I can book in with someone else. Thanks"

Is he self employed or through a gym?

Both I think. I got him through a friend who had hired him but he's listed on the local gyms website.

Just ask for your money back. He won’t be able to say no as it would be too awkward for him to come and train you again if he did.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable at all. Training needs to be regular to see an results, so cancelling three consecutive sessions just makes the whole 5 session deal pointless.

Also, £20 an hour is suspiciously cheap!

Exactly Joey. £20 is the Going rate for the personal trainers who work for the council run gym I use, I'm in Yorkshire too.

I've messaged him telling him I want my money back. I won't hold my breath if his previous unreliability is anything to go by!
