Hi to be obsessed by twiglets when I hate marmite!

Warning! Wine has been involved! Have suddenly found this week that I’m rather a fan of the marmitey things known as twiglets. As a self professed “marmite hater” should I be either thinking of repenting, asking for therapy, blaming my parent etc? Are there any more like me out there? Or am I the only one. I feel a little lost 😂

They’re just so more-ish

I don’t think they’re too marmitey. Just lovely crunchy, salty yumminess (but then I do also love marmite). I haven’t had a twiglet for bbloody years and I really fancy a bag now.

Yes, YABU. Fuck off you marmite-hater and leave the twiglets to those of us who have made a lifelong commitment to the yellow lid.

inkandstone · 17/02/2018 00:17

YANBU, but they aren't as nice as they used to be.

ElderflowerWaterIsDelish · 17/02/2018 00:17

I love all things Marmite...I love twirlers too, but I don't think they taste the exact same as Marmite though, but they are moreishGrin

ElderflowerWaterIsDelish · 17/02/2018 00:18

*twiglets, not twirlers Hmm autocorrect

Am thinking I may be like the girl in ads and been “conditioned” into hating marmite - when I should love.

I'm the other way around! Love marmite and can't stand twiglets!

MyKingdomForACaramel · 17/02/2018 00:22

@somerville - I’m so sorry and a little ashamed - I’ve had a life long commitment to shunning marmite in all forms - but am wondering if this is just my upbringing (parents were marmite haters too). dh is a fan - but puts it deliberately on toast to stop me stealing having a bite - perhaps all of them are ea!

I love Marmite. But I don't care for Twiglets... will I be hounded out of here?

MyKingdomForACaramel · 17/02/2018 00:26

@vaguelyaware - not by me - however this seems to be very decisive issue 😊

Don't pass the buck and blame your parents for raising you in the Cult-of-Marmite hate. We all know the truth - all those friends' birthday parties when you didn't even try the marmite sandwiches, remember?

MyKingdomForACaramel · 17/02/2018 00:32

@somerville but I was just a kid - and I didn’t understand the repercussions! That awful yeasty smell... the gooey pooey look of marmite - how could you expect a child to understand 😂😂

Gooey pooey look of marmite

Right, that's it. Hand those twiglets over and then wash your mouth out with soap.

mrshectic · 17/02/2018 00:39

Me too LemonShark. Love Marmite, but hate those twiglets! Awful things ...yuk!

Cagliostro · 17/02/2018 00:40

Mmmm twiglets. Never actually tried marmite.

I craved twiglets in my recent pregnancy. Epic nausea and they were the only thing I could stomach. Nearly cried when I couldn’t find any (why do so many crisp-selling shops not sell twiglets?)

Then one day I suddenly couldn’t eat them, had to send DD out the room to eat hers as even the smell made me feel worse. Baby’s nearly four months old and I haven’t eaten them yet :( :(

So no YANBU

Gubbins · 17/02/2018 00:41

Twiglets taste nothing like glorious marmite.

Bloomed · 17/02/2018 00:46

Wish they'd make gluten free twiglets!
