Wtf?

I just watched it tonight. I have no idea what's happened/happening

The whole lot is on iplayer. I think that was episode 3.

Tapandgo · 16/02/2018 22:05

A group,of us watching it here ~ we all have different takes on it. But it could have finished at 1 episode with a DNA test!

MatildaTheCat · 16/02/2018 22:07

It’s bollux. Can’t do another 3 episodes.

Schmoop · 16/02/2018 22:07

Just finished watching the last episode on iPlayer. Still not totally sure what happened

norfolkenclue · 16/02/2018 22:08

I've watched the whole series (iplayer). If you watch from episode 1 it's great. I think they've left the ending open for another series though (and if not, then the ending is a bit 'unfinished').

ChipVinegar · 16/02/2018 22:25

So I think the Matilda girl is the charis girl who went missing?

Her real mum is the one who was in the bath but she was kidnapped from someone else pretending to be her mum?

And her real mum is somehow in on something dodgy to do with it???

Tapandgo · 16/02/2018 22:42

Don’t tell me tonight was the last episode? Surely not!

goldenlilliesdaffodillies · 16/02/2018 22:48

DH and I just watched it and both thought what an earth was that all about too!

Thehogfather · 16/02/2018 23:31

I've watched it all too and think the same as norfolk. Plus imo there were lots of things left unexplored or explained to any depth throughout, and not all can be reserved as plot for a second series.

A bit like making a film of Lord of the rings, but cutting loads so it only ran an hour and randomly finishing part way through the introduction to the two towers.

sixteenapples · 16/02/2018 23:35

Watched the whole lot on iPlayer as was bored, depressed and housebound for a day. It started well enough although I agree an DNA test - why didn't they just do that. Then I think it lost its way and by the end I didn't know what was going on and didn't care. I gave up halfway through the last episode as it was just silly but horrible.

CanIhavedessertfirst · 16/02/2018 23:47

You can watch the entire series on iPlayer, which is what we did. Super strange programme!

FrogFairy · 17/02/2018 00:08

I watched it but assumed there was another episode left.

What a crock of shit.

ChipVinegar · 17/02/2018 00:18

So what did happen?

OP posts:
Phosphorus · 17/02/2018 00:20

I've watched it all.

I've never watched such a badly written/followed through story line in my life.

The final episode is outrageously bad.

The actress who plays the mother must be thanking her lucky stars she only had one episode.

The guy who plays Mathilda's partner is an excellent actor though.

LaundryMountain · 17/02/2018 00:24

It was 5 hours I’ll neber get back. Utter utter drivel.

In summary, everyone was in on it except the birth mother, then they persuaded her to climb through a door or something and she had a funny turn, and then her eyes went weird.

The dishy Australian was the best bit but he was awfully dim. And most of the plot lines were shambolic, peaking when Hal went all “American Werewolf” and bit a sheep.

Crap, truly.

LondonHereICome · 17/02/2018 00:55

Oh is it not worth the next few episodes then?

Why did her other mum kill herself?

I got really into this on iPlayer. Until the crappy let down of an ending. They have blatantly left it open for a season 2.... but instead the show had no real ending, was confusing and gave no answers. I felt robbed. Not everything has to run for seasons on end, y'know!

73kittycat73 · 17/02/2018 02:20

Thanks for that LaundryMountain, you could have given a spoiler warning. Angry
